2. HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCACY AND PROTECTION
Women's Human Rights: GoWESDI's focus on Human Rights particularly expands the lenses of society to recognise and appreciate that underneath the familiarity of Human Rights, exists Women's Rights that are subsumed. The consequense of this is that the effects of female specific rights breaches are unrecognised, undefined and not differentiated from those suffered by men and therefore, are largely misunderstood, ignored, unprotected or even antagonised. GoWESDI's motivation in this regard is on the concentration of Equity to the drive for Equality in human rights such as affirmative action, increase in the training of women in male dominated skills and professions etc.
SGBV Prevention Awareness Training: SGBV has become a societal scourge eating at the soul of communities, families and individuals. While men and boys can suffer SGBV, the female gender has borne the brunt of this evil, multifaceted malaise. This is further fuelled by societal conspiracy of silence, shaming the victim and unsuccessful prosecutions, GoWESDI trains women and girls on their rights against sexual assault, preserving sexual assault evidence, learning about the judicial process and being comfortable with the court environment as not to be intimidated when seeking redress from related injuries. GoWESDI also trains women as paralegals focused on SGBV prevention, prosecution and survival.

Chat On Green: GoWESDI's interpersonal, confidential, and non-judgmental chat platform. Dispensing legal advise and providing private, intimate, and dependable counselling on sundry subject matter. Women and children, especially girls endure an unspoken prevailing gag existence in Nigeria and the world over. Women thrive, survive and succeed better when they can share their experiences, fears, doubts, dreams, weaknesses, failures, triumphs and even uncomfortable desires and indulgences without shame, reservation or judgement. GoWESDI helps women make reasonable and responsible choices guided by the knowledge of their rights as members of society and provides a multi-layered non-judgemental, safe space to chat, vent, cry, unmask and confront guilt, pain and loss but also provides room to belief, grow, accomplish and encourage other women in the attainment of goals many women can only dream of.
Advocacy on BORSTAL/ JUVENILE Reformatory and Reintegration: Given the growing population of Nigerian children and youths in contact with the law, GoWESDI identifies the gap in providing age-appropriate arrests, trial and sentencing procedures, counselling, reformatory and mentorship education and reintegration programs aimed at preventing repeat offences and grooming an increasing generation of reoriented and resilient youth and a gradual shift in ingrained values towards youth positive contribution to national development.
